BEHAVIOURAL Consultant-Independent Broker
Since August 2017, Dawn Marie has been in the role of Behavioral Consultant-Independent Broker that provides support to Sean and his team. She has over twenty plus years of experience with children and adults with disabilities. Her passion has always been supporting individuals with complex needs that struggle to communicate their needs effectively. In this role she consults with families/agencies who provide supports to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health concerns and/or behavioral concerns and Dual Diagnosis.
She provides objective, clear communication with regards to any observations and recommendations that result from spending time with the individual and their support network; providing written assessments, strategies and procedures in order to enhance the supports provided to the individual and provide a safe environment for all the parties involved.
She graduated from the Rehabilitation Practitioner Program at Grant McEwan, has taken Proactive Strategies for Supporting Individuals with Challenging Behavior and completed the Positive Approaches training with David Pitonyak through the Positive Approaches Institute. Her training with Positive Behavior Supports, Autism, Harm Reduction and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder add to her wide array of expertise.
Dawn Marie currently holds a full time position as a Manager of Complex Needs Resources with Skills Society and is a Mandt System Instructor which focuses on building healthy relationships, healthy communication and conflict management with the individual while providing Trauma Informed Care.

Inclusion Consultant & independent Broker
Nicole works as a Consultant and Broker, helping persons with disabilities and their families recruit, hire and train disability support staff. Nicole also acts as an advocate to promote social inclusion and civic engagement.
Nicole is someone who believes that a successful and fair society is defined by its people, and the opportunities available for them, to fully, and meaningfully participate in all aspects of life. This belief greatly influences Nicole’s commitment to improve the circumstances and lives of others.
Over the last 10 years, Nicole has volunteered and worked in many leadership rolls within the disability community. In 2013 Nicole worked as a Community Disability Support Worker; in this role, Nicole helped clients develop valued roles in the community by teaching and encouraging organizations to think outside of the box for creative ways to integrate people with disabilities into their workforce. Through a creative and collaborative partnership with staff and community organizations, Nicole helped the people she worked with gain employment and volunteer positions in roles uniquely created for them.
Nicole holds a Masters of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy, and completed further training in Public Policy. Nicole uses her diverse skillset as an instrument to try ad achieve social justice by challenging the political and systemic barriers that unfairly disadvantage vulnerable populations- including people with disabilities.

team lead - community disability support worker
Deandra has been supporting individuals with disabilities as a Community Disability Support Worker since 2020. She is a passionate Team Leader, and leads a team of Disability Support Workers. In her role as Team Lead, Deandra works with persons with disabilities and their families to develop and implement creative programming supports to meet their unique goals. A large proportion of her Team Lead role involves providing mentorship and training to new staff, managing conflict, as well as coaching Support Workers when challenges and/or performance issues arise.
A fundamental belief of Deandra’s, is that inclusion is an attitude and approach that fully embraces diversity, and promotes equal opportunities for all. To this end, Deandra’s particular passion is advocating for improved health, and reducing health inequities experienced by people with disabilities. She believes that people with disabilities are capable of, and deserve good health. Deandra recognizes the complex layers of structural obstacles that stand between people with disabilities and achieving their best health. She has witnessed the many challenges people with disabilities face to achieving optimal health and accessing high-quality health care. Deandra frequently speaks to her team of Support Workers on the influence and impact that structural and social conditions have on the experience of disability, and, by extension, on health care access and health outcomes.
Deandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta, where she graduated with Distinction. Deandra has high academic aspirations, and hopes to continue her studies so that she can better address health inequities. Outside of work and academia, Deandra volunteers in her community. Most recently, she has become involved in initiatives that aim to make community spaces more inclusive for people with disabilities.
