Diversity as an asset not an obstacle.

Edmonton’s Community Inclusion Consultants work with people with disabilities and family members to employ, mentor, and train inclusive person-centered support staff also known as Community Disability Support Workers.

Using a family-centered service model, family members of a person with a disability employ the Community Disability Support Workers through funding they receive from the Government of Alberta.  Community Disability Support Workers work 1 to 1 with the person with a disability in community or home environments for employment, volunteering, recreation, leisure, or home activities.

We help Community Disability Support Workers build an inclusive community around the person they are working with so that the person with a disability can enjoy full citizenship and community inclusion.

Innovative approaches to improve quality of life

A Person-centered approach is the foundation upon which our services are built.  It is important to get to know each person – their hopes and dreams, their gifts and talents, their vision of a good life, and their unique support needs. Personalized supports are created in partnership with the individual, their family and our support team.

Community is fundamental to our sense of who we are. Communities are stronger when we are all included and when everyone can participate, contribute and be valued.
